Anthocyanins are a group of dark red – purple – blue pigments found in plants. They are part of a broader category of plant-based chemicals called flavonoids, which are abundant in fruits, seeds, shoots, flowers and leaves.

Especially red Anthocyanins are found in many fruits, vegetables, and grains that have purple, blue, or black hues. It is also used as coloring agents in foods. It provides color in red and pink tones. Since anthocyanins are in products of plant origin, they are vegan.
